It was rainy and cloudy on and off all weekend here in Iowa, making it the perfect weekend for a little DIY project.
There’s an awesome built-in bookshelf in our family room that makes a little nook between the bookshelf and the wall. I never really knew what to do with the space, so I just threw a chair in the corner and called it good. That is, until my roommate had the brilliant idea to turn the wall into a giant chalkboard.
Painting the wall was a lot easier than expected. We had absolutely no painting experience, but a half-hour and two coats of paint later, the wall was finished and ready to go.
We added a lamp, an armchair and some throw pillows and suddenly the boring half-wall became an awesome little reading nook.
I could not be happier with the way it turned out. What do you think of the project?
